Pediatric Ultrasound

Ultrasound is an excellent tool to examine children of all ages. The examination is fast and painless and does not require young children and infants to stay still for long periods of time. Real time imaging captures the internal tissues and organs quickly and effectively. Advanced imaging using colour Doppler, harmonic imaging, and higher resolution probes increases the effectiveness of pediatric ultrasound.

What will the sonographer do?

The Sonographer places a small amount of gel on the body part to be scanned to ensure proper contact and moves the probe around to produce images of the tissues. The images are reported by the radiologist.
