Bringing mobile services to where the needs are

Mobile Diagnostic Imaging Services

StL Diagnostic Imaging is committed to providing mobile radiological services for our patients and clients. By coming to you fully equipped for expert on site care, we eliminate the cost and stress of transportation to a hospital or clinic, facilitating and simplifying all stages of the x-ray process. Our team of professional radiologists, technologists and staff are dedicated to the highest standards of quality and performance expected for essential diagnostic care.

Who we are

StL Diagnostic Imaging was founded by Tina and Eugene St. Louis in 2003 with the primary goal of providing exemplary diagnostic imaging services to our communities, with particular attention to mobile services for our elderly population. Since then, we have expanded our area of mobile services from Fort Erie to Oshawa and beyond and north to Gravenhurst and west to the Brantford and most recently to the Kitchener/Waterloo region. We have also expanded our services to include mobile ultrasound in some of these areas. We are the largest mobile imaging company in Canada.

Tina St. Louis is a registered medical radiological technologist with over 18 years of experience in quality assurance, diagnostic imaging technology and teaching. She has worked as a mobile x-ray technologist as well as in hospital settings. She is a member of the Ontario Association of Medical
Radiation Sciences, the Canadian Association of Technologists and the College of Medical Radiation Technologists.

Eugene St. Louis is a radiologist with over 25 years of experience in teaching and community hospital environments as well as private office radiology and has 15 years of experience with the mobile x-ray business. He has served on a large number of regional, national and international committees related to diagnostic imaging.

Our Mobile Staff

Our team of professional radiologists, technologists and office staff are dedicated to the highest standards of quality and performance expected for essential diagnostic care.

The provision of high quality imaging services arises from a collaborative team approach that includes technically and clinically skilled technologists that image the patient's condition and highly qualified radiologists that render the final imaging report.

Radiology technologists complete the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) registry examination for entry to the College of Medical Radiation Technologists of Ontario (CMRTO).  The CMRTO is a regulatory body that ensures technologists have acquired the knowledge, skill and judgement and are competent to perform the procedures.  The CMRTO protects the public from the potential risk of harm.  Sonography examinations are administered by the Canadian Association of Registered Diagnostic Ultrasound Professionals (CARDUP) and/or the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS).

Our Imaging Equipment and Electronic Data Storage

StL Diagnostic Imaging continues to grow and move forward with the latest technological advancements available in our industry. We use the highest quality, most reliable portable x-ray and ultrasound equipment available.  The image equipment is supported by a medical imaging "electronic Picture Archiving Communication System" (PACS).  Image storage and transfer is DICOM (Digital Imaging and Communication in Medicine) which is a secured network for transmission of electronic patient information.  This PACS system allows for timely and efficient access to images, interpretations and related data and allows physicians off site access to patient records.

X-ray

Designed for use anywhere, our portable x-ray machines are dispatched along with a certified technologist straight to the patient, and are capable of virtually every routine radiographic view. Detailed images are easily obtained with short exposure times on ambulatory and non-ambulatory patients.

Each x-ray unit has regular testing to ensure compliance with the Healing Arts Radiation Protection Act and both x-ray and ultrasound machines are subject to routine maintenance. There are periodic inspections by the Independent Health Facilities branch of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario to ensure compliance with the Independent Facilities Act legislation.

Ultrasound

Ultrasound is a non-invasive, painless technique emitting no ionizing radiation and is an extremely effective imaging process. The ultrasound procedure can produce images on virtually any part of the body.

Our techniques allow for the highest quality contrast image enhancement for tracking and identifying abnormalities. Because our sonographers are ARDMS registered, patients will benefit from the most up-to-date, accurate imaging procedures.
